Meet Gracie
Gracie was wondering the streets of Bakersfield, hungry and flea bitten. Luckily she was being fed by a woman who eventually called us. Our volunteer went and picked her up, gave her a flea bath and started socializing her. I don’t know if she ever had a home or love. She was very frightened and untrusting.
Now she attaches to the person she trusts and becomes very loving and affectionate! But she needs basic training by a person experienced with rescues, and willing to spend the time. But she has learned to come when called and is better meeting new people. She listens when corrected and responds to being pet.
She walks on a leash but barks when she sees other dogs and people… mostly from insecurity . She does well with another dog in the house to play with. She is a year and a half old and about 15 lbs. She doesn’t mind the cold to go outside for potty, she is good in the house and loves toys.
