Meet Ginger Long Beach *Courtesy Post*

Ginger is a lively, smart, affectionate and highly trainable German shepherd mix. She could be as young as 11 months or to a year and a half. She ended up at the Long Beach shelter at just 3 months of age. A couple in their seventies adopted her. Unfortunately soon after, the husband got very sick and now requires round the clock care so the couple is no longer able to take care of Ginger. She ended up spending most of her time tied to a tree. Realizing that Ginger deserved better, the couple relinquished her to Mutts In Need Rescue . Ginger is now fostered in a home where she spends time with several dogs of different sizes. Her foster mom reports that she gets along with all of them.

Ginger has lots of energy and loves going to the dog park and playing with other dogs. She loves to learn and already knows commands like “sit” and “come”. She also loves to go for car rides. Ginger has not been cat tested, but she does do well with children. She would be happiest in an active home with someone who likes to hike or spend lots of time at the dog park as well as spend time teaching her tricks or obedience commands. Ginger weighs 65 pounds, is house trained, crate trained and is current on vaccinations and spayed,
