Meet Frito

I'm Frito, a 1-year-old, male, 9-pound mostly white with some tan Havanese. My new CAWS family rescued me from a puppy mill way from the east, my journey took a couple weeks for us to finally arrive safe and sound, but now my new forever rescue group will be sure to help me find my ultimate furever family. Everything is so new to me but my foster mom and 4 legged siblings just let me decompress and were very, very, very slow to introduce me to the new ways a dog can live and be loved unconditionally. I truly like my other 4 legged siblings, big and small, male and female. After being in my foster home for a few months now I love love love playing with anyone who will play with me so I have to go to a home with another 4 legged companion. I really like to play with the 30-pound heeler sibling in my foster home, she is ever so gentle with me, I really like that. I also play with another 9-pound, 8-year-old male and 13-year-old female, just anyone who will indulge me. We all cuddle on the couch and in an open crate or on the floor with numerous beds for us to pick and choose. I conquered house training, my foster mom gets me out on a regular basis, whew, so I learned very quickly. I do like to nibble on my 2 legged people's toes and fingers so I need to have my own chew toys. Because I am only a year old I am a very busy little body, roaming here and there, darting to and fro, so much to check out. I paw at my foster mom a little when she picks me up. I am still learning this very new way of life so it will take time for me to totally feel 100 percent safe with new and quick motions not scaring me. Because I get startled I cannot go to a home with little kids, I need to be in a home with older people who will go slow with me. I learned to walk on a leash with a harness. My progressions have been so unbelievable, if I don't say so myself, I am pretty darn smart, whew. I have a little squeaky voice when I talk and get excited but it is an ever so soft little squeak. My foster mom tells me every day she likes to hear me make these little noises cuz I really do get to be a dog now. I need to go to a home with a secure fenced yard cuz I am still trying to find security. If you have the patience and time to let this little man open up and become a dog, please arrange for a meet and greet.
