Foxy German Shepherd Dog & Husky Mix Leonardtown, MD

Foxy is waiting for her furever home. She’s been in foster care for over 6 months between two rescues due to her being pregnant at the shelter. All of her babies have found homes.

What we have learned about Foxy!!

What we know and love!
- Loves kids and her humans
- Does ok with other dogs who are respectful of her boundaries
- Completely house broken
- Crate trained and eats her dinner in the crate
- DNA tested and confirmed, mostly German Shepherd with a sprinkle of Husky & Dutch Shepherd.
- Extremely eager to please and tries her best
- Non destructive
- UTD and will be spayed soon
- Loves car rides and snacks
- Enjoys being groomed

What we are working on….
- strangers need to pass the vibe check before she allows them in the circle of trust. It’s clear someone has been extremely heavy handed with her and she is very submissive to her people. We have made improvements in this area. She’s learning not everyone is going to hurt her.
- when her puppies were with her she has shown behavior called resource guarding. She doesn’t like when other dogs are around her while she eats. She has no problem with humans touching her food or taking it. We have made progress in this area.
- she has been to a training session and I will continue with her until she’s adopted and I sponsor classes for her and her new family.
- she has prey drive, chickens are feathery fun balls and she loves to “play” with them, she should NOT have access to them or cats.
