Meet Fox
Meet Fox. He’s an energetic and affectionate 14 pound, 23” long (not including tail), 17” tall Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. Fox would be best suited to a very active family without very young children.
Fox loves mealtimes...no matter how engaged he is in backyard play, just let him hear some dry food hitting his bowl and he’ll come bounding in. He enjoys mini milkbones, soft chewy treats, and the occasional bone to chew. Fox will occasionally dig in sand or very soft soil, but it’s not his go-to entertainment.
Fox’s ideal home environment features hardwood or linoleum floors. He sometimes gets confused about whether carpet is an appropriate lavatory, but only makes this mistake on hard floors when he’s kept inside too long (his bladder control is generally very strong). Fox’s backyard should have tall fences, because he has an impressive vertical leap. If your neighbors have dogs in their backyard you can expect Fox to get into loud arguments with them, but in social settings he gets along well with other dogs. He is untested around cats.
Fox loves physical affection whenever he can get it. Whenever he sees his human family hugging each other, he rises up on his hind legs and enthusiastically joins the embrace (pictured left). When the family’s not at home, Fox should be placed in an enclosed indoor space (like a laundry room) without easy access to trash.
Fox gets nervous during fireworks, and in those scenarios it’s best to put him in his crate for the night. He’ll probably make it difficult to get him inside, but being in the crate will calm him down eventually. On calm nights, he likes to sleep in the kitchen in his cozy bed.
Fox has a rebellious streak. If you’re opening the front door to receive a package, he’ll look for a chance to dart out and go exploring. He knows you don’t want him to, and he doesn’t want to leave forever, he just has his own ideas about appropriate neighborly boundaries.
