Meet Foster Homes Needed (THIS DOG NO LONGER AVAIL)

** FOSTER HOMES NEEDED for dogs of all sizes and ages**Adult Dogs Need Help Now, More Than Ever!

Contact our foster coordinator at mary@onetailatatime.com.

We have all breeds of dogs and puppies who are waiting for a chance to find a good home. People are losing their homes and jobs and have to give up wonderful adult dogs, and shelters are filled to overcapacity and having to euthanize many good dogs who could find great homes here in New England. It's imperative that we have help from people who believe in rescuing these dogs - dogs who will die if they're not rescued. Our volunteers know how rewarding it is, to see a rescue dog blossom, know love, play with a toy and enjoy a chew bone for the first time.

Sometimes there's a bit of hesitation from potential foster families - "How can I give the dog up?" "It will break my heart to let him go." - it's never easy to say goodbye to a foster dog. Many of us even shed a few tears. But our foster families are involved in helping to choose the right home for their foster dog. After all, the fosters KNOW their foster dog! Some of our fosters keep in touch with their adopted dogs, and are always sent updates and pictures from the adoptive family so they know how everyone's doing.

Our rescue depends on people like YOU - people who have lots of love, know that they're saving lives, and have a temporary place for a rescue dog to lay his head until we find him a permanent home. Our fosters know that once their foster dog has been successfully adopted, they've selflessly given that dog a wonderful life, and there is another dog waiting to be given that chance. Can you help us? Could you possibly foster a dog for 2-3 weeks? We need loving, patient foster homes for our dogs so they don't have to be kept in a kennel while waiting for their new homes. It's better for them to be in foster homes where they can be given lots of attention and learn, sometimes for the first time, what living inside a house is like. It helps some of our shy dogs learn about love and kindness, helps us fatten up some dogs who've never had enough food, and once settled into a foster home, these previously unwanted beauties shine like the true gems they are.

You provide the time and love, and we provide the food, crate, toys. All our rescued dogs have been seen by a vet and are up to date on shots and healthy. We're looking for people who love dogs like we do! Volunteer! -- it's a great feeling! It helps us save more dogs and, for people who can't have a dog full-time, gives the opportunity to love and care for a dog when they can.

Foster families should be near Haverhill MA, or be willing to travel there. Please email for more info mary@onetailatatime.com

[PLEASE NOTE: The lucky dogs pictured here have already been adopted through One Tail at a Time Rescue! Help us save more dogs by becoming a foster parent!]
