Meet FORREST GUMP

Weighing in at around 26 lbs, Forrest is a big, sweet Puggy Boy! Good with everyone, friendly, wiggly, and loving! Forrest's foster has the following to say about him:

"Forrest Gump is a friendly, extroverted, energetic, affectionate and loving larger sized pug who is just a happy goofball with a smile that will make anyone smile back.

He is more active that your typical couch potato pug and he really enjoys his walks and time outside. At the same time, he also is okay being at home with his person and really tries to be a lap dog (but he's too heavy and large for our laps!). He would give kisses all day long if given the opportunity. He walks very well on leash, is easy to direct and pulls very little. He is friendly and social with every person and dog we have come across. He plays extremely well with our 9 month 12 lb Chug puppy and is very gentle, patient and tolerant of her puppy energy antics. He plays "chase me with our puppy and he will even lie down on his back to let her wrestle with him.

He sleeps well in his crate at night - though he whimpers a little at first in the beginning. I usually give him a few treats after he goes in his crate to cheer him up and then place a light bedsheet over the crate to help him settle down and let him know its bedtime.

He is very food driven and will do anything for treats, pets and affection. He does need to learn general house manners as he does jump on people and couches. I've caught him once walking around on top of our dining table. He responds to voice command/correction extremely well, however, and because he is so food driven, on top of that, I feel that training him should go smoothly with consistency. He hasn't quite gotten "sit yet but we are working on it. Forrest does need to work on house training, but I believe that will come with consistent training and time.

He seems to be fine when we leave him at home alone with our puppy when we are out running errands or doing things with kids. We don't hear him barking when we are returning to the house and he is just chilling or napping when we get home.

Our kids are 10 and 13 years old and he loves to play with them.

We do try to walk him at least twice a day, but I feel he could use longer walks than our typical 20-30 min walks to get more energy out.

Overall, Forrest Gump is a happy, funny pug who is a great companion dog and would be great for a family with older kids (he might knock over smaller kids) or great with anyone with time to give lots of love and time outdoors. "
