Forrest Hound Mix Louisville, KY

Forrest is a beautiful 6 month old hound mix. He came to us from a rural shelter just a few short weeks ago. He lived in an apartment growing up so we are unsure of how much socializing he got with both people and dogs ? When he first came to his foster home, he looked at the other dogs like he didn’t know what to do. He was scared and unsure of how to play and very leery of meeting new people.

Forrest is just a very happy-go-lucky type of puppy. Since being in his foster home, he has met a lot of new people (inside and outside of the home) and has started to play with his foster siblings. He has a loud hound bark and loves to bark at his siblings when playing, so he will need a dog that can tolerate his barking. He can take a couple minutes to warm up to new people but once he is comfortable, he loves you. Forrest knows sit, shake and is house and crate trained. He also sleeps through the night ? He would do best in a home with older children as he is unaware of how big he is (he is quite the large derby fella) ??. Forrest will need someone who is willing to continue working with him and his hesitancy of new people. He is up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and neutered.
