Meet Forest and his siblings - Available for Adoption!

Hi there! My name is Forest, and I'm an adorable mixed breed puppy looking for my furever home. I'm around 10 weeks old and 15 lbs. My mom is a Heinz 57 mix, and our best guess is that my dad might be a Lab/Great Pyrenees mix. I'm mostly white, with little cream spots on my ears. I come from a litter of 10 puppies, and we were rescued just in the nick of time from a not-so-great situation. Our mom was living outside on a lady's property who wasn't taking care of her properly, but thankfully, RARE stepped in and saved us all.

We've been dewormed several times, started our puppy vaccine series, and have transitioned onto puppy food. We are a diverse bunch in terms of sizes, but the fluffier ones are likely to be between 60-75 lbs when fully grown. The shorter-haired ones like me will probably be closer to our mom's size, around 55-60 lbs. While I'm still mastering the art of house training in my foster home, I'm eager to learn and grow with your guidance and patience. Despite our rough start, we are all full of love, curiosity, and puppy kisses! We can't wait to find loving families who will give us the care and attention we deserve. If you're looking for a new furry family member, please consider adopting me or one of my siblings. We promise to fill your home with joy and endless tail wags!

If you're interested in adopting me or any of my siblings, please complete an adoption application at rarerescue.org to learn more about the adoption process. We can't wait to meet our future paw-rents!

Forest is not ready for his neuter surgery yet, but he has received his first vaccines. His spay/neuter, rabies, and full vaccine series will be completed by RARE as age-appropriate and will be included in the Adoption Contract.

All of our Adoptables are:

Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoption

BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.

PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.

Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.  As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.

***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
