1/12/24-Everly continues to be the best dog ever! She sleeps in bed with us (her preference is cuddled in my arms), lets us know when she has to go out, sleeps under my desk while I work during the day, and does happy dances when it's time to relax on the couch at night as that's her favorite place.
We have left her alone and free in the house with our dogs a few times now and we come back to zero incidents. She continues to do all of her business outside and has had no accidents.
Everly likes my dogs but still hasn't engaged with them much. They tried to get her to play tug and she did not understand it at all and got frustrated with them shoving a toy in her face. She will cuddle with them though and wants to be around them. The other day she met my neighbor's dog who is her size and now has a massive crush on him. That's the first time I've seen her tail wag so fast for another dog. She keeps begging to go over to my neighbor's house to see her boyfriend so we have a playdate scheduled for later today.
I had a vet appointment for my two dogs today and left Evie alone with my husband and she was more timid with him than she normally is. I'm guessing it was a combo of both the other dogs and me being gone since she spends all of her days with us and only sees my husband when he's back from work at night. My husband made her eggs to make her feel more comfortable and she happily accepted them. Clearly she has us wrapped around her little dew claw! She has met a bunch of new people and loves everyone. She always dances on her back legs and wants them to pet her.

We know that Evie has a lot of interest so to narrow down her possible homes there is one thing her new home needs to accommodate. Evie LOVES the bed and the couch. It's really her only ask of us is to be cuddled and have a soft place to nap. If there is a potential adopter that is more aligned with dogs on furniture vs in the crate or dog bed, she needs a family that will cuddle her at night. We haven't had to use the crate at all with her. She is not destructive and does not potty in the house. She just wants lots of cuddles and love so we want to be able to give that to her in her forever family! She deserves this one request/requirement after all she’s been through.

1/9/24-Everly settles in more every day. We didn't have any grumpiness yesterday and she happily shared treats and favorite spots (bed, couch, under my desk) with my fur kids. We like to joke that Everly would be happiest if she was strapped into a Baby Bjorn on my chest all day because she loves to be cuddling or laying on top of you. When you pick her up she just melts into you and falls asleep.
We haven't had a single accident in the house (knock wood) and Everly even let us know by waiting at the door when she had to go last night. We gave her a bath, clipped her nails and cleaned her ears and she didn't care at all, though she did rub all over our carpets afterwards to get her stink back.
She is miss personality and has so many funny quirks. Yesterday when we showered she stole all of our dirty clothes from the bathroom and put them in our bed one by one. She likes to jump on her hind legs and dance around when she is happy or excited. She also has started sighing at me when I annoy her as if she's the one that has to pay bills around here. She doesn't seem to be afraid of much. She even followed our robot vacuum around the house.
Everly is content to sleep all day and we haven't heard her make a peep yet. She is also excellent on walks with my two dogs and doesn't pull on the leash. We walk a couple of miles a day and she keeps right up with my big dogs. She stays right by me when we are outside in the back yard too.
Everly has a strong affinity for jerky treats, Charlee Bears and bread. She's still figuring out kibble but has a healthy appetite and is excellent about sharing bowls with my dogs.

1/7/24-Everly is settling in great and is such a good girl. We got her to eat some ground turkey but she’s confused by kibble so far after likely only eating mush her whole life. She will definitely get used to it in time though! She is a big time beggar and counter surfer right now so we are working on that with her. She listens well to correction. She has spent most of her time here so far sleeping and cuddling us. She is a very friendly girl and her tail is always wagging. The couch is her safe space and she will happily spend all day on it. We did deal with some boundary testing today with my dogs. She is perfect with them most of the time but didn’t want them on the couch with her and got grumpy about it. We have dealt with this with past fosters so we told her to stop making eyes at them and kicked her off the couch as punishment and after a while of monitoring and correcting her she got the memo.
Everly seems to be more focused on her people than dogs, so our initial thoughts are that she would be a good only dog or with dogs that will be respectful of her space. I’ll update as I see her interact with my dogs more as our past fosters have really started to open up more around our dogs and experiment with playing and toys towards the one week mark.
I clipped Everly’s nails today and toweled her off after playing in the snow and she was not bothered by either. She knows how to go up and down stairs well and is really well behaved in the house.

1/6/24-Meet our newest foster, Everly! She is a 3 year old ex mama from a puppy mill. Evie is incredibly well adjusted and does not display the signs of trauma that most mill dogs do. She is great in the car, loves cheesy bread and ground turkey, and wrestled my dog Arlo within a couple of minutes of meeting him. She wants to be near her humans and getting loved on non stop and her tail never stops wagging. Her coat is definitely more golden retriever than poodle which will make for easier grooming! We absolutely love this sweet girl and cannot wait to see her flourish in her new life! My most cuddly foster yet! Everly fits right in to our pack as if she’s always been here. She will get adopted fast.

01/04/24-Everly is a beautiful 3 year old female mini Goldendoodle (miniature poodle/Golden Retriever). She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they just got done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport & temporary foster home volunteers. She is being spayed on Wednesday 1/17 & will be ready to go home after that. Updates soon from her foster home!
