Meet Eva
Those movie star eyes! Eva is a small (35 pound) Staffordshire terrier mix. This sleek, two-year-old blue beauty has a very intense demeanor. During her months at the rescue, she has shown us that she is very trainable and does have good social skills with other dogs. Other dogs just need to spend managed time with her to trust that it’s just her manner and that she is actually friendly.
Eva has a strong prey drive that can be managed quite well with a just a slip lead flipped over her snout or a head collar (Halti or Gentle Leader). This keeps her in her thinking brain and reduces her reactivity. She has learned to temper her impulses and will continue to improve once she’s in a home with people willing to keep her on the right track toward fulfilling her potential as an awesome dog.
Eva enjoys trotting on the treadmill and retrieving tennis balls. She is looking for an active owner/family that will continue to give her the guidance and redirection she needs. Please fill out the application at redbarnrescue.com to meet this wonderful dog!
