My name is Emma Rose and I was originally a stray in Mexico. I came into rescue in August 2023 and was very skinny, but now I am a 13 pound love bug. We are thinking I am a wirehaired terrier, but breed is estimated by my appearance only.

I am active and like to be busy, but at the same time if you're looking for a pup to lay in your lap and snuggle, then I am perfect for you. I am still learning my commands and not to jump on people. I get excited when you come home and want to jump. I will do best in a secure fenced in yard - if I was able to sneak out a door off leash, you would have a difficult time getting me back.

Right now I go about 5 hours staying at home with my doggie friends who live here. I have been working on my housetraining, but still have some accidents like small dogs can do. I can go in a crate, but I don't really enjoy it. I
do not have any known cat exposure and am not living with smaller kids.

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
