Elsa - Free Spirit Husky Mix Washington, IA

Eight year old Elsa’s life got turned upside down when a divorce cost her to move. She is calm for a Husky, and on the small side for one also. Her antics make us laugh and are very on-brand for her genetics. When a group of fifth graders came to visit our shelter, Elsa loved them, and they adored her too.
As far as other dogs, we think that she would be great with another older dog with medium to low energy. She is past any escaping the kennel days but still loves to play fetch. Elsa loves being petted, brushed, and all human affection. She’s not needy and is happy to entertain herself and explore.

Elsa walks by the other dogs in their kennels with a smile and a pleasant look on her face so she should make a fun playmate for another dog in the home.
She loves to go on daily leash walks. She is so much fun to walk since she checks out all the sights and sounds and says hello to everyone. Elsa is well behaved, sweet, and very ready to start a new adventure with you.

This doggy is described as a 'Free Spirit'. Intelligent, independent, confident and clever, I prefer making my own decisions but will listen to you if you make a good case. We are partners in this adventure. Treat me like one and we ll both live happily ever after. (Internally motivated)

Because of her prey drive Elsa should not live with cats or small animals.

All our dogs have been spayed or neutered or arrangements will be made if currently too young. They will be treated for fleas, bathed, vaccinated against distemper/parvo, treated against general parasites, and if of age, tested for heart worms and vaccinated against rabies. If underage for these things at the time of adoption, they are to be done at the adopter’s cost when the dog becomes of age. They will be microchipped at the time of adoption.
