Meet Ellie May
Ellie May is a 10 year old female Pomeranian-Corgi (and possibly more) mix that weighs about 25 lbs. She is very intelligent and talkative, playful and silly. She loves to walk (slowly with lots of sniffing) and doesn’t pull. She doesn’t mind rain. In her foster home she goes potty outside but also uses wee pads.. She is always excited to go for a ride in the car. She will want to sleep with you and be up against you at night. She doesn’t like a kennel.
Ellie May does not hear very well and is jumpy if she doesn’t hear you coming up to her. She wouldn’t do well with children that aren’t old enough to understand that. She can be very loud even when she is just “talking” to you and wouldn’t be a good choice for apartment living. She often makes noises that sound like growls when she is just being conversational.
Ellie has a very cute face and has a very soft coat. She is very affectionate with her foster humans and just wants to be in the same room and touching someone if possible. She thinks she’s a watch dog and barks a bit during the day at various things she sees out the window.
Ellie has some allergies and will require Cytopoint injections every other month. We are following up with her veterinarian about that. She has a special shampoo for her skin and tolerates baths but is impatient. She will need occasional grooming.
Ideally Ellie’s new home would have someone with her most of the day with leisurely walks and a fenced yard to wander in. She craves affection, kindness and to be safe, and will bond quickly if walked and allowed to sleep with you. She will require patience at the beginning while she learns the routine and layout of her new home.
