4th Saturday, Roseville - Pet Food Express

If you're looking for a companion with life experience and a grateful soul, come meet Mr. Eddy. At 10 years of age, he has an appreciation for the simple things in life. Despite his advanced age, this is a bouncy boy with an impressive solid build, weighing close to 65 lbs. Because he was a stray, we know nothing about his youth except he is ready to jump into life!

Eddy currently shares his home with another senior female (see Hope) whom he regards as the boss. He can become overly excited when meeting new canines, so supervision is recommended to maintain respectful boundaries until they become trusted friends. While he has been known to play well with other dogs, he is also happy to entertain himself with his treasured stuff toys. Offer a game of tug or a chance to fetch a ball, and you'll see him burst with delight like a puppy! Daily walks are a highlight for him as well as joining in on car adventures. This guy has no shortage of fun in his soul.

In the home, Eddy will do his best to ask for your admiration as he soaks up affectionate pets or belly rubs. He sits on command and will offer his paw with endearing friendship. Eventually, he will settle on the floor or dog bed where he will lay quietly, ready to follow your lead wherever you may roam. He is accustomed to being alone during long workdays with use of a dog door and will eagerly welcome your return home with delight.

Eddy is housebroken and sleeps quietly in his crate (well, he does occasionally snore) through the night. He is low-maintenance and has learned to appreciate carrots as luscious treats. As we have experienced in the past, few dogs offer us the opportunity to share in their last years the comfort, dignity and joy they so much deserve. This lovely boy will repay you with his charming wags of gratitude.

For more information and to see when this dog will be attending an Adoption Day, please see our Dogs page on our main website. (https://www.gcgsr.org/adopt_info.html) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state.
