Early Bird, AKA Early or Earl, is a sweet & affectionate 11 year old, 75# Staffordshire Terrier who is looking for an adult home to enjoy his senior years. He would do fine with an older respectful child 8+. His people have made the very difficult decision to rehome Early as their growing family includes a toddler and baby on the way & does not allow him to live his best life. Despite their best effort, wee ones make him uncomfortable. Out of love for this much adored big guy, his people want to find a comfortable retirement home for him.

Early is housetraned, good on leash and enjoys short walks. Car riding makes him quite nervous, so he’s not the road warrior type. He is more of a homebody who loves the company of his people there. His owner describes him as “affectionate, low energy, sweet and silly. He loves to be around people and is kind of like a 75# cat.

Early would get along with a submissive female dog in the home, though he doesn’t want to share his home with male dogs or cats.

Early has been well cared for and his health is good. He is hypothyroid which means he has to take an inexpensive medication every day & twice yearly blood levels. He has a bit of itchiness seasonally which is treatable. He does fine on the regular diet as long as it does not contain chicken because he is allergic to that. His hearing is fading a bit, but he can still hear you and knows basic commands.
