This lovable 2-year-old Shepherd mix, weighing almost 60 lbs fully grown, has endured a challenging journey. Dusty and his siblings were rescued from a kill shelter in Swainsboro, GA in September of 2022 where they were denied gentle treatment and unjustly labeled as unadoptable due to their fearful nature. Almost on the brink of being put to sleep due to their "unadoptable label" Home for Good stepped in to be their savior, providing them with a lifeline.

Placed in foster care, Dusty's true personality began to shine. Among the company of the other dogs in his foster home, he found comfort and security, thriving in their presence. His foster home became a haven, a warm and welcoming environment where he experienced the simple joys of belly rubs, playful fetch sessions, and the comfort of sleeping in a human bed. To Dusty, the presence of other dogs is not just a preference—it is a necessity for him to feel confident and content. His ideal forever home would be one with another canine pal (or multiple!) and a nice + large fenced-in backyard.

In addition to getting along so well with other dogs, Dusty get's along great with cats too, making him a versatile companion for households with feline friends. Moreover, Dusty has the potential to be a wonderful addition to a family with children who possess prior experience with dogs. Already equipped with potty and crate training, Dusty's intelligence and food motivation makes him a breeze to train. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own.
