Dudley Treeing Walker Coonhound & American Foxhound Mix Cincinnati, OH

Say hello to Dudley! Dudley's Petfinder photo features him with the human-Dudley he was named for! Dog-Dudley is around 3 years old, weighing in at 65 lbs. and is the sweetest hound dog you will ever meet!

Dudley was found wandering as a stray and sadly had been shot in the leg. Luckily he was rushed to the vet and his leg was saved! He now loves to play and go on walks, not missing a beat.

Dudley warms right up to people and is always looking for someone to give him ear rubs. He sticks to his hound roots and loves to show you how well he can howl! Dudley is very strong and could benefit from leash training. If he has any distractions on his walks he is likely to pull, however he is fantastic on walks in quiet neighborhoods or trails! He loves to sniff his surroundings. Dudley will need and excel with a fenced yard to romp and play in.

Dudley is incredibly intelligent and receptive to training commands. He quickly picks up on commands such as 'sit' and 'leave it.'

Dudley has playmates at STAF and will do best with a playmate that's his match! He also could be an only dog-child, but does love being around other dogs. Dudley has done well meeting children, but he is a big boy so might be best suited for a home with children 12+ years old.

Dudley is extremely loyal and is truly the definition of a loyal companion. Whoever decides to adopt this sweet boy will never feel lonely with him around! He is happy to be active with his humans, and equally as happy to lounge around. As long as he has his human buddies by his side, he is happy.

Dudley cannot wait to meet his future family and snuggle right up with them!

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
