SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Dudley is a wonderful, happy fellow who would love a new, active family! For reasons unknown, this sweet guy found himself in a North Carolina shelter, and he was a favorite of the shelter staff. Once you meet him, you will understand! Someone somewhere took time to teach him a few commands and how to be a good boy! Dudley absolutely adores running and playing. He loves balls and loves being right beside his person. Fully grown at just 40 pounds, he is a perfect size for most homes! Dudley is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. And a perfect dog deserves a perfect home! We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home some of the day to spend time with this amazing dog! A home with a fenced, secure yard will give Dudley the room to run and play, and maybe even teach his adopter a thing or two about soccer! Dudley is not well suited to small children or very small dogs who could be upset by his enthusiasm, but will fit nicely into many other homes.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
