Meet Dobby
Dobby would love to be your personal house elf! She was rescued by a wonderful lady and has been nursed back to health.
With a guesstimated birthday in Oct. 2022, she weighs about 30 lb.
Dobby is the perfect size to snuggle next to you on your couch or bed. She does well in a crate and is house-trained when kept on a regular schedule. She is leash trained but will pull and likes to sniff and run. She's a digger so needs to be supervised outside until she learns that's not acceptable.
She is used to kids, but plays a bit too rough, so would be better suited for older children, not toddlers or babies. Dobby loves her person but has trust issues with other dogs. She was attacked as a puppy and has never learned that polite dogs can be friends.
She is being kept outside due to persons inside the home with allergies, so she really needs her new home quickly! Could you be the person she's waiting for?
**********
Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.
For adult dogs, our adoption fee covers a standard canine vaccine, a rabies vaccine, and deworming if recommended by our vet. Adult dogs will also have current heartworm test. For puppies over the age of 14 weeks, our adoption fee covers the first 3 puppy vaccines. If the puppy is still in our care at 16 weeks, we will also provide the rabies vaccine.
A vet reference is required only if you are adopting an intact dog over 6 months of age (or the age our attending veterinarian recommends for spay/neuter) to ensure future altering of the dog. A refundable spay/neuter deposit is required for intact dogs/puppies.
Open Adoption Events for Foster Dogs are held on most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Open Adoption Events for Bunch Anderson Shelter Dogs are held every Saturday from noon-4:00 p.m. Please check our FB page for changes in Adoption Event Schedules.
A scheduled Meet & Greet between Adoption Events may be possible by sending an e-mail to: info@foothillscaninerescue.org. We do not hold dogs. Fees are required in cash at Tractor Supply.
We are an all-volunteer, foster-based no-kill shelter & rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. For more information on our organization, visit our website at FoothillsCanineRescue.org.
