Meet Dizzy

“Hello, Peeps! I’m Dizzy! ?

The name’s Dizzy and I’d like to take you for a spin around my time at WHS. I’ve been hanging out here for 140+ days, but sadly, I’ve actually been in and out of Warrick Humane Society since 2021. They’re cool and all, but I’d prefer not to be here. I’ve had some issues in my previous homes, but I’m asking that someone please be patient with me and give me a chance. I really am a great dog, I just need to find the right fit. I’m hoping that’s YOU!

I’m a 2.5 year old Retriever Mix who weighs in at a lovely 49 pounds. I get excited when asked if I need to potty and I’ll go straight to the door. Potty training may need a small refresher but staff members don’t think it’ll take much. I LOVE to play. In my foster home, they were teaching me to run on the treadmill to get some extra energy out. Tug-o-war is one of my favorites but the best thing ever is WATER! I’m the first and last one out of the pools here at the shelter and you can find me lounging in them any time possible. I also like to chase balls, but don’t expect me to bring them back to you. I can get possessive of people and of food/toys around other animals so that has caused me issues. I need to be socialized with multiple people rather than just one person to help me get over that problem and I should probably be fed separately. I’m cool with cats as long as they don’t try to take me on-just give me my space, kitty cat. I have a best friend here named, Hannah. She’s super cool and I can chill with her all day. But there’s some other dogs here that I just don’t vibe with. I mean, can’t get along with everybody, right? If you’d like me to have a new best friend, I should meet them first. I previously stayed in a foster home with a feisty little dog and an old, old dog, so I’ve had some experience with all different energy levels. I’ve done really good with any kids I’ve ever met and always remember to use my manners with them. I know how to sit, shake, lay down, stay, and come. And if I’m really focused, I have an adorable little head tilt to let you know I’m listening.

If you’d like to meet me, please let the shelter staff know cuz I’d really like to meet you and become your new best friend!” ?

Our online applications and more info about our facility found at www.warrickhumanesociety.org. All of our dogs receive extra love and attention.

All of our dogs/puppies have received age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention. Plus they are spay/neutered, heartworm tested and microchipped prior to adoption.

We REQUIRE an approved application including vet reference for adoption and a home visit in some circumstances. Each dog will be placed in a home that is appropriate for that dog and we reserve the right to deny adoption for any reason.

Note: We can never guarantee if a dog is housebroken, but many of our dogs indicate that they are by keeping a clean kennel overnight. Our knowledgeable staff can help you select a pet that is the best fit for your home and family.
