Meet Dime

Meet Dime, perfectly named because he's a perfect 10! Dime is a low riding handsome boy with a stunning smile and an even better personality! He's gentle, cuddly, seems housetrained, and is very polite when taking treats. He's had some good interactions with dogs and very laid back when with his hooman friends. He's the total package! Dime is looking for his forever home- if he sounds like a fit we'd love for you to check him out!

Dime is available for foster and adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org.

Behavioral:
Per Volunteer 4/18/24: Love this boy!! Obsessed! he's a little potato man, he walks very well on leash and responds well to any sort of pressure, so is easy to direct. He's such a sweet boy, loves getting pets and rubs all over. he has multiple spots where when he gets pets, he starts scratching with his back leg! It's so cute! He met another dog through the fence and was very patient and calm while I spoke with the owner. He did pretty well meeting other dogs. He started by meeting Somer who did snap at him- he backed away and didn't react at all. We then tried to meet with Clyde and he did pretty well, he was a little tense but they met for a few minutes and it was all very polite. such a cutie and very affectionate boy!

Per Staff: Behavior Eval 4/18/24:
Dime was quite nervous when i came up to his kennel. He was on the other side. I called him over to me and he had soft eyes but tense body and was trembling. he stopped by the divider and wouldn't cross. I sat on the edge and called him over to me. He slowly walked across and I was able to slip the leash over his head. It took a couple minutes of coaxing and motivation for him to leave the kennel. When returning to kennel he pancaked and I needed a second handler to loop his belly.

Dime was nervous when first entering the room. He was trembling with a tense body and low tail but chose to stay near me in the room and sat upight beside me. He let me do some light head scratches but would lip lick and continue to tremble. He would not take treats at first either and was very unsure of his surroundings. After around 7 minutes he began to sniff at me more and his eye contact softened and he untucked his tail. he sniffed the fresh pet I previously offered and began to take it. I offered him more from my hands and he showed knowledge of sit and was very gentle. He began to loosen up more and allowed me to pet his dull body and kicked his leg at some butt scratches. he really perked up once he got a squeaky toy and mostly just chased them and liked the noise. However after this he was very goofy and showed much more personality! He bounced around the room and would lean in for pets and seek out attention. He is very food motivated as well! He did well meeting a new handler that entered the room as well.
A bit mouthy at times when too excited but still fairly easy to handle
