Dez - Prison Trained! Shar-Pei Mix West Jefferson, OH

This cute boy is Dez! Dez is a Shar-Pei mix currently weiging around 34lbs with an estimated date of birth of October of 2022. Dez came to our shelter after good samaritan found him wandering around by himself. He is quite the cutie pie and really loves any and all types of affection and love he can get from anyone who will pay attention to him! He is very energetic, because he is still young, so he would be best placed in a home that can give him lots of play time and walks to burn off some of that puppy energy! Dez tries is very best to keep his kennel nice and tidy. If he is walked regularly, he tends to do great with not having any accidents. He will however have accidents overnight here because he has to hold it longer than throughout the day. He should do very well in house training though with lots of positive reinforcement and patience. He is very treat motivated so that will help him with basic command training as well! Dez is a typical puppy in many ways, including the puppy mouthy play bites. He is learning what "no" means and getting better but will need some at home training as well. For that reason, a home with smaller children may not be ideal for him. Older children who can help out with training him in a positive manner would be great! We do believe he would do just fine in a home with other animal friends including dogs and cats. With other dogs we would just need to set up a meet and greet to see how their energies vibe with one another. Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $17, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
