Dexter is still available for adoption or foster to adopt!

Positives: This adorable boy is such a sweetheart and a total goofball. He has a friendly demeanour, is eager to please and loves his people. He gets along well with other larger dogs and we think would do well in a home with older children (16 plus). He would be a great outdoor adventure partner for someone and likes going for walks or hikes. He’s safe to handle, doesn’t have collar sensitivity and hasn’t shown signs of resource guarding. He’s also fully crate trained and enjoys hanging out in it if his people aren’t home. He would do well in a home living with another larger dog as well.

Things he needs support on: Dexter has a very high prey drive and cannot be in a home or environment where there are small animals, cats and potentially livestock. He is still learning to adjust to his new life and will need time to decompress. He’s coming into his own and will need a family who can give him time and patience. He’s an active breed and would do best in a home who is active while providing the mental and physical stimulation he needs.
