Fence needed? No, but if you plan on letting Dax run in your yard a fence would be a wonderful safety feature for him.

What kind of home would be best for me? Dax is a young little guy that is searching for a calm home he can warm up in and become someone's best canine friend ever. Dax will do fine in either an apartment or house and he'll do well with every type of adopter, singles, couples, or families. We ask that families that want Dax have children that are older, 10 years old and up. This loving little guy would be perfect for a retiree or adopter that is home most, if not all, of the day. Dax won't need a ton of exercise, a couple of walks a day or some play time in yard should be plenty. Dax doesn't know his command so his adopter will need to teach him sit, down, come, stay, and the like. He walks well on a leash but can tend to get a little in front of you, so some refresher training won't hurt. Dax can be an only dog but would do well in a home with another small dog he could play with and learn from.

What is my personality like? Dax is a cautious little guy and likes to ensure the area is safe before proceeding. He can't resist people that love on him though. And Dax believes that should be every human on the planet. He loves being petted and played with after checking out the room and the people in it. Dax likes other small dogs, seems a bit overwhelmed with larger dogs, and displayed total indifference to the cat here. He does well with his food and doesn't guard it even with other dogs around.

How do I act when I first meet new people? As noted above Dax can be a bit cautious but the desire to have people pet him, give him belly rubs and just generally love on him always trumps that little bit of caution. Deep down he's a sucker for love, whether getting loved on or doing out giant poodle love from his miniature poodle body. He'll share his love with everyone, men, women, and children. This little guy will be a fantastic addition to your life. Dax is patiently waiting for you to come and start him down his new road to a wonderful new life!

Other tips and tidbits: Our vet estimates Dax was born on or about 3/24/2021.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
