Daisy Shih Tzu Salem, OR

Daisy is one of seven dogs rescued from a home in Vancouver, WA. The owner died suddenly and the sons were not able to handle the dog situation. Salem Dogs drove to pick up all of them (in a VW Bug) and bring them into our care. They had been well taken care of but a little under-socialized. They blossomed in SD foster care and are now ready to take on the real world again. Some have already been adopted. This is the note from Daisy's foster mom who knows her better than anyone right now.

Daisy is about 14 years old and weighs about 14 lbs. She is a Shih Tzu with a lot of the traits of that breed. She is not particularly friendly with the other dogs in her foster home but likes to be at the center of everything that’s happening. She will use wee pads but prefers to go potty outside (she will walk to the outside door but doesn’t signal to go out). She is not a picky eater but may have food allergies so may only be able to have certain foods. She is “pretty good” for the groomer but doesn’t really like to have her face fussed with. Daisy needs eye ointment for dry eye but if she gets a treat afterward she tolerates it with a minimum of arguments. Her vision and hearing are probably minimal. She likes to have a kennel to nap in but also loves the dog bed in the middle of the living room. Daisy has a wonderful confident personality that is hard to describe - she just has a very positive outlook on life and she loves attention but she can also be a bit stubborn.
