Meet Coy

Happy birthday Coy Clodfelter! Our little girl is a year old now.

Her story began with a phone call to us about a pregnant shepherd nobody could catch. That soon turned into a skinny nursing shepherd nobody could catch. After many days spent in the area and fantastic community involvement we finally found the well hidden puppies dug into the side of a ravine. We pulled six pups out that day and I was sure we got them all, but the camera we left at the den that night showed puppy #7 trotting around, so the next day we were back digging around again. We finally found her snuggled up in sagebrush, and reunited her with her siblings.

Over the last year that last puppy, Coy, has grown into a stunning young dog, sweet as can be. She is an unusual mix, mom is husky and German Shepherd and though we don't know who dad is we know he is a coonhound mix through DNA testing. Coy is highly responsive to training and has graduated from Ridge Dogs. Her eagerness to learn and her desire to please will make the training process a rewarding experience for both of you. With consistent guidance and positive reinforcement, she'll quickly grow into an ideal companion. She previously lived in a foster home with cats and other dogs and is well socialized with both, leaning toward being on the submissive side. She is affectionate with people and has lovely manners.

Coy was the last puppy we found from that family and now she is the last one to find a forever family of her own. While she is happy and healthy in foster care we desperately want her to experience her own people and be truly home.

Coy is vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed. She is currently located in Tricities Washington. Her adoption fee is $400.

Postscript- while it took several more months we did finally catch the mama who hid her puppies so well in that ravine, and Mama June is thriving in her own adoptive home.
