Meet Cooper

Cooper is an 11 year old Coonhound (we think he may be a Treeing Walker) who’s on the hunt for his forever home. Don’t let the age scare you away, he still has plenty of love and energy to give! Cooper loves to sunbathe, lay on the couch, and go for causal walks. He does okay with a busy lifestyle but, prefers company. He’s a gentle walker, great with kids, good with dogs, and has a very goofy yet nonchalant demeanor. He’s a gentle giant and a country boy at heart. He loves to let his presence be known, roll around in the grass, and bark at you when you pick up his poop tehee. He loves adventures but, is also totally okay with staying cozied up all day. He would prefer a home without cats because he likes to chase them but, other than that he’s literally the perfect old man. His foster mama says he makes her day everyday and knows he could make yours! Cooper does have a condition called Hypothyroidism. He would need to be kept on a daily medication to regulate his thyroid levels, as well as routine bloodwork. If regulated it is a very manageable condition! Cooper came to NAWS as an owner relinquishment on 3/14/22 due to his owners moving somewhere that does not allow dogs. He has been overlooked for a long time and is just a sweet old boy, wishing for a forever home. #SeniorDogsNeedLoveToo
Introducing Cooper!

The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog or family's needs. To achieve this, we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adopters. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs. Please submit an application at www.NAWSUS.org under the Pet Adoption tab to setup a day or time to meet with one of our adoption counselors and our potential adoptees. Thank you!
