Cooper Border Collie & Australian Shepherd Mix Madras, OR

Cooper is so handsome and only 9-10 months old! His previous owner said once he is comfortable, he enjoys meeting new people. He is shy at first but warms up fast. Currently he will need to be on a leash for walks as he needs to learn not to chase cars and skateboards. Our dog trainer can share many ideas to end his chasing behaviors. He is a herding type breed of dog so he is only doing what is natural for him which is chasing and herding. Cooper will need to take time to feel safe with new people as he is a little shy. Border Collies and australian shepherds need a lot of activities and a job, so he would love to have a busy life. He loves playing with toys and chasing a ball. cooper would do well with another dog who has the energy and likes to play like he does. He is a very loving dog and likes to cuddle and play. He gets along with other dogs but can be a little timid around new dogs. He is great with kids, babies and kitties. Other than when he is relaxing he needs constant stimulation and definitely needs some training. He likes to dig and chew and would like him to have chew toys often. He is still a puppy so some of his behaviors will get better with age and training. He does not bite or attack, he may sometimes bark at new people at first. He barks at knocks on the door, the doorbell and dogs on tv.
