She came into our program when her owner passed and went into a foster home.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER

Cocoa,
Cocoa is a little Chi, but boy, does she have personality! She is a big snuggler and loves to be held. Getting her belly rubbed in the evening is one of her favorite pastimes. When she is tired, she crawls underneath a fleece blanket for warmth and quiet. She likes chew sticks and squeaky toys. She is very patient when treats are being given out and she is not aggressive when other dogs are near her food. She gets along well with other dogs, but will let them know if she wants something or if they are too close. She is a little timid at first, but this should go away when she meets her forever person. She likes slices of banana and doggie treats, and she will jump halfway up your leg to get one! Her best friend is Tiny, another Chi.

Both:
Seems like they were raised on table scraps and not dry dog food. They both preferred the wet dog food but did eat some Beneful dry dog food (for small breeds) that we give our dogs. When dry and wet food are mixed together, Tiny will spit out the dry dog food as she eats, only eating the wet food. They like being together and were fine with our 2 dogs. Tiny yapped, barked, and whined whenever we were not in the room with her and this could go on for a long time. However, it seemed to be lessening, so maybe she will stop once she is in her forever home. Both really love toys, but Tiny will nip Cocoa or jump on her to get the toy. Cocoa however, stood up to Tiny when Tiny tried to take Cocoa's chew stick, so she can be assertive. If you are holding both of them at the same time, Tiny likes to sit on top of Cocoa. Most of the time Cocoa doesn't mind, but if she does, she will let Tiny know. They like to sleep together in the dog bed I left with you. I put a fleece blanket in the dog bed and then they will make a "bed" by scratching and moving the blanket around until they can both snuggle in. They are not housebroken, and even though we took them outside at least a dozen times a day, they both went in the house. Only about 50% of the time did they use the pee pads.
