Meet Cleo!

Everything about this pup is FUN, lively and infectiously enthusiastic! Her big floppy ears, ear to ear smile, charming white socks, non stop wagging tail, and endless bounces of excitement radiates positivity that is impossible to resist.

Cleo craves to be loved so badly that she constantly seeks human touch and interaction, making her somewhat of a clingy love bug. You will have to give up personal space because this girl will always want to be as close to you as possible! She will follow your every move, paw at you for pets, and lean her entire being into you as she embraces the love. Stop petting her too soon and she may give pathetic puppy dog eyes and gentle nudges urging you to continue showering her with love. Sure, her clinginess may be overwhelming at times, but that endearing attachment and loyalty is well worth it!

This girl greets everyone with the same exuberance as if she thinks each encounter is the most exciting event in the world! You will feel like the most important person on this planet as you approach Cleo and experience her uncontainable excitement. As she bounces and jumps with joy, those adorable white socks on her front feet will paw at you with determination to make contact. Once you start petting, that burst of excitement simmers down and she will sit or lay next to you and soak in all the love! We are still working with her on leash etiquette because the first few minutes of taking her out is like walking a kangaroo. She jumps and twirls in the air with joy as if she has springs for feet and is practicing a ballerina move. Her immense happiness for something as simple as a walk uplifts our moods because she was once so terrified that we had to carry her everywhere.

The leaps and bounds of excitement and happiness don't stop with human interaction. She also joyously hops all around the yard as she investigates the many smells, tosses around a toy, jumps in and out of the kiddie pool, and socializes with her canines friends. She hasn't quite figured out how to play with other dogs, but she sure enjoys their company and happily trots along with them.

Unfortunately, this sweet and innocent pup wasn't properly trained or socialized and is still learning about all the things that will make her a good girl. Staff and volunteers have worked hard to socialize Cleo and her siblings and are proud to say they have made GREAT progress! We are seeing daily improvements with leash etiquette, basic commands like sit, the concept of potty training, and socializing with other dogs. It has been a rewarding journey to watch Cleo blossom into such a HAPPY and outgoing girl.

Cleo is an 8 month old, 40 pound possible Black Mouth Cur/Boxer mix. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on all her vaccines including heartworm prevention!
