MORE ABOUT CINNAMON:

Cinnamon is a 2.5 year old petite (36#) pit mix that was found mauled, abandoned, tied to a tree and left for dead. Given her environment and the other dogs around her, she was suspected to be in a Pitbull fighting ring.

Last Hope was called in to help save her. Cinnamon endured 8 hours of reconstructive surgery to her face. She didn't just have lacerations to the skin, she had actual flesh torn from her bones which is something no animal should have to endure.

Making way to the world of rescue, Eric, one of Last Hope's fosters, picked her up after two weeks of recovering from surgery. Knowing that Cinnamon would be extremely dog aggressive, with five other dogs in his home, Eric knew it would be very challenging.

Eric started her right away with several reactive dog training classes at Canine Coach. One instructor told Eric that they have never seen this level in a dog. Although Cinnamon has improved, she will most likely always be reactive to the degree where she and other dogs are not safe together.

Cinnamon was cheated from being a loveable dog her first few months of life, but being so young, she has plenty of time to catch up and make that happen with the right person.

She loves to be around humans. She loves to cuddle with Eric and his family and is very attentive, however, her strength cannot be underestimated.

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.

Last Hope, Inc. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue! You can see almost all of our dogs on Saturdays from 11-2 at the Apple Valley Petco (7590 150th St W, Apple Valley, MN 55124)

Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play, or an active family who will make sure the dog gets the exercise it needs to be happy. Some dogs do not have the temperament that will do well with young children.

The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills. Sales tax of almost 7.25% is also included in the adoption fee that you see. Please consider donating to Last Hope to help us save these animals!

CAN YOU FOSTER? By taking a dog or puppies into your home temporarily and then coming to our adoption days to help find them homes, we can save more! If interested, please email our office: mail@last-hope.org and give us your contact information and what you would like to foster and someone will get back to you! Check our webpage and click the picture of the border collie on the side to learn more about fostering too!
