Meet Chickilina, a delightful 3-yr old Dachshund mix weighing in at a sprightly 13.5 lbs. This spunky little dynamo is more than just a furry friend – she's a bundle of joy that makes her people smile every day.

Chick is always ready for the next adventure. She lives for the thrill of exploring the world through walks – just touch her leash and watch her light up! She delights in playing with toys after a nice brisk stroll and then happily rewards her humans with quality snuggle time. She views snuggles as a privilege earned after exercise and play time.

This little firecracker is seeking a dedicated adult family that appreciates the art of daily exercise, understands the ins and outs of the Dachshund/small breeds, and respects her need for autonomy over her petite frame. Chick would love the company of a canine sibling, preferably of a similar size. She likes to instigate play with her furry friends, making her the ideal companion for a household with another friendly pup. We think she would be ok with kitties.

Chick has a big heart and a strong spirit. She's reliably housebroken, as long as her human companions are diligent about breaks immediately after meals and throughout the day. She would love to run zoomies around a fenced yard or be allowed to run on leash a few times a day - there's nothing better than stretching those legs! Chick isn't a huge fan of being crated, but she adjusts with grace. In her view, her people should be home with her as much as possible so she can skip the crate!

In her foster home, Chick is working on basic obedience skills and gaining confidence. She’s a big fan of treats, so training is a breeze. She lets her foster family know when someone approaches the house like the little protector she is.

Chick wants a patient and understanding family who can provide the time and space for her to feel safe and truly blossom into the happy companion she's destined to be. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Chickilina's adoption fee is $400 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.
