Chase was on a list to be put down at a high kill shelter the very next day when we came across his bio. We, unfortunately, get a lot of requests to help dogs like this and can't help them all. But there was just something about Chase that kept calling to us so we kept calling them until we could secure him. He was surrendered by a previous owner at the age of 7. In the shelter he would hide in the back of his kennel because he was so scared and confused as to where he was and why he was there. No one came to get him...

A friend of the rescue personally drove him up to us. He's been with a foster now for just a few days and is doing incredible! He was pretty frightened when he first arrived but after some treats and toys he warmed right up. He's learning how to use the crate. The first night he tried it, it was hard for him to settle. He decided to use his body to scoot it across the floor so he could see his foster mom's bed. Once he did that he settled down and went to bed himself. No problems going in his crate since then.

This boy is a smart, special boy who deserves a home to call his own. He loves music and it helps him feel safe and calm. He especially likes classical music and Josh Groban. I think if I were to ask Chase the question, what is your biggest requirement in looking for a new home, his answer would be a loving owner. That is all.
