Meet CHARLOTTE SMALL

Name: "CHARLOTTE SMALL"

Age: 1 YEAR

Weight: 35 lbs

Breed: LAB MIX

www.youluckydogrescue.org - Adoption Application can be found at this website.

Meet Charlotte, exceptionally sweet and the perfect medium-sized dog. She is estimated to be around 1-1.5 years old and is an adorable female lab mix. She is fully grown at 35 pounds and is small enough to pick up and carry if needed. Don't tell her, because she thinks she is a big dog! She has a very sweet personality and LOVES all people. Charlotte is fully vetted, spayed and ready to find her own forever home!

Charlotte came from a rural shelter after she was found living outside without basic necessities. Even though she is around a year old, she needs structure and consistent training just like a puppy. She never lived in a house before being pulled from the shelter and going into a foster home environment. She is smart, a fast learner and so eager to please. She already knows sit, down, and is working on staying in her "place."

Charlotte currently lives in a foster home with 2 dogs now, but an only dog environment would be the best fit for her.

Charlotte is house trained. She enjoys being outside and likes to wonder around the back yard and smell everything! She gets frequent potty breaks outside and knows that when she goes outside, going potty comes before playtime. Charlotte loves playing with toys and enjoys chewing on bones. She is not a big barker. She sleeps quietly at night in a dog bed on the bedroom floor. She is crate trained and stays in the crate when her foster family is away from the home. She also eats her meals in her crate. A home with structure is important so that she can continue to understand what behaviors are and are not acceptable.

Charlotte really enjoys walking on a leash and does not pull or bark at other people or dogs. She especially loves cuddling. She craves contact and loves to sit in a lap, cuddle up for a nap, or rest against another dog. She is dog friendly and lives with 2 other dogs in her foster home. She is working on appropriate playing because she can escalate a friendly dog game into rough housing quickly. She is not trying to be aggressive, she just needs to learn boundaries to understand playing too rough is not allowed. We don't know if Charlotte is cat friendly, she has never been in a home with a cat. She would be fine in a home with children if the family reiterates "puppy mouth biting" is not allowed. Like most puppies, she will play bite if allowed, and it should be stopped immediately.

Charlotte is a dog that will absolutely reward her family with a lifetime of love and devotion if they continue working with her to be the best dog she can be. She would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day. A fenced in yard would be nice because she enjoys getting her zoomies out and letting off energy while exploring a safe area. A fenced yard is not required, however, since Charlotte is so excellent on a leash. Her family would need to be committed to walking her several times a day on a leash if they do not have a fenced in yard.

For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
