Meet Charlie 5yr Adopted

Charlie is Adopted

Charlie is currently fostered in Mentor Ohio, and his adoption fee/donation is $300

Charlie here…..
I am a 4 1/2 yr old cocker boy. My original owner became ill and was no longer able to care for me. I am now in this great rescue looking for my new forever home….

I want to begin by saying what a GREAT BOY I AM!!! I am totally housetrained, I never have accidents in the house, I get along great with all other dogs, and I am a BIG LOVEBUG!!!??????
On the “not so positive” side I howl, and cry when separated from my people. Sometimes just being in a room alone away from my people makes me cry/howl. This is something that may never change, or it could improve over time. So this is something about me that you will need to understand and accept about me. I would NOT DO WELL IN AN APARTMENT. I need someone that is home a lot, someone who is maybe a couch potato, and just wants a dog to love!!! Well I fit that to a “T”!!
I am a typical cocker spaniel, I beg at the table (not so good) you see my former owner fed me from the table. I have some itchy skin at times, not always, but sometimes I chew/lick my paws, but not excessively. This can often be food related, especially in this breed. Food changes can often help, but it’s no guarantee.
Most of all, I need time to adjust to any new home environment. It takes 3-4 weeks to 3-4 months at times, depending on the dog. Adopters need to understand and be committed to this time period. Things can happen, I could act out in the early days of adoption. You MUST be able and willing to give me needed time WITHOUT giving up on me. Patience is a virtue, especially when adopting a rescue dog like me!!! We aren’t perfect, we can’t be expected to just fit in without any obstacles. Please, DO NOT HAVE ANY UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS OF RESCUE DOGS.
We often come with baggage, and need you to give us your 100% commitment. If you can’t provide this, please reconsider adopting a rescue dog.

Charlie is neutered and up to date on vaccines
