Captain Chihuahua & Dachshund Mix Southport, CT

Hi there, we are 34 Chihuahua & Dachshund mixes who were living a nightmare in the most deplorable and disgusting hoarder house imaginable. The floors were covered in filth, dank with urine, floorboards missing, and dogs in cages stacked high. It was truly hard to believe humans, dogs, or any living creature could survive like that. October 29th was FREEDOM DAY! We were all terrified and some of us still are but coming around. Even though our lives sucked, that’s all we knew, and change can be scary. All of us were missing hair from fleas/filth/poor nutrition. Many of us were in desperate need of dental cleanings and teeth extractions. It was quite an undertaking for 4 Little Paws Rescue and through social media, so many lovely humans offered to foster us. Now that we have all been vaccinated, spayed, or neutered with dental work done, and some of us already feeling friendly, we can start our journey to finding forever homes!

My name is Captain, I am a 5-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix weighing 16 lbs, I have a medium energy level, and I’m a mama’s boy. Overall shy at first but I warm up quickly. I am the shy submissive type, not a biter nor a fighter, I’m a lover and a lap dog. I’m sweet and snuggly, and not too proud to share kisses. I follow my foster mom around the house, interested in what she's doing and I’m loyal. I am friendly with other dogs and one of the few who are already feeling playful with my people and my doggy pals. I’m a quiet boy who rarely barks and I am well-behaved in a home. No chewing, digging, guarding my food, or separation anxiety. I know how to walk with a leash, I’m housebroken, and I know how to use a potty pad. I just had a neuter and dental cleaning so I am officially ready to find a forever home. I have recently moved to Connecticut so come by and meet me, but be prepared to fall in love and take me home!
