Meet Callie
Callie, a 2.5 year old, 16.5 lb JRT/Dachshund mix, is a little ball of energy who loves to play fetch with balls and her toys. She likes to go on walks, is good during them and with doing her business.
A very sweet and affectionate little girl, Callie can get a bit rambunctious and excited and will sometimes close her mouth on toes and hands but not aggressively; she is just playing. A firm “No biting!” and she seems to understand and will stop.
Callie doesn’t get along well with other small dogs, but may be fine with a larger dog. She is likely best-suited to be the only dog in the home and she will thrive having all the attention and being a great little companion.
She is definitely not fond of cats and has a high prey drive, so other animals such as hamsters and rabbits would not be advisable.
Callie previously lived in an apartment and it did not to meet her activity and exercise needs. She loves running around the fenced yard in her foster home and being with pet parents who don’t leave her alone for long periods of time.
This perfect sweetheart will suit an active single person, a couple or a family with older, dog-experienced children.
Spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines, Callie is house-trained, crate-trained and a smart, loving pup who will be a great little sidekick!
Callie is being lovingly fostered in Oakville, Ontario and her adoption fee is $525. If you are interested in hearing more about Callie, fill out an application at http://russellrescue.org/adoption/ and more comprehensive information will be provided about her.
NOTE: ONLY queries with a COMPLETED FORM will receive a reply due to the volume of requests for info we receive. For complete information about our adoption process please go to our website: http://www.russellrescue.org.
Please note that JRTRO does not place rescue dogs in adoptive or foster homes with resident children under the age of 8 (and recommends no children in the home for Freddie). JRTRO does not adopt our dogs into homes with unaltered dogs.
