Meet Butkus

Butkus is an 8-year-old Boxer mix who was recently surrendered back to us in rough shape. He got into a foster home rather quickly but still needs to find his forever one. He's been a really sweet boy so far in his foster home and we learned he's potty trained and good with kids. He came back to us very overweight at 128 lbs. It's been hard on his joints and he has some trouble with mobility. Ideally, the home should have no stairs and mostly carpet, as he has trouble balancing on hardwood floors. Preferably a fenced-in yard, but it is not required. He's heartworm-positive but we've been working on a treatment for him slowly. We tested him around other dogs and he did well, but probably would prefer another lowkey dog like him.
