Meet Buppy
Buppy is an 11 year old Shih Poo who is is still in search of his retirement home. Don't let his age fool you though, this guy is healthy, in great physical shape, and is very active! He enjoys his long and leisurely walks (he will get his own leash and wait patiently for you when he knows it's time) and playtime. He is a social butterfly and loved by everyone he meets out and about. He loves going on car rides. Buppy is a fun and funny guy and will keep you entertained with his outgoing and charming personality!
This guy has been fostered with another small, senior dog and cats. He then lived with 3 other small dogs in his most recent home. Some larger or rambunctious dogs may be too much for him. He would also be thrilled to soak up all the love for himself and be someone's one and only. He's adapts pretty well to new situations.
Buppy is looking for a forever person to go on a couple walks with, sit in the sun, hang out on a recliner doing a crossword or watching the TV with. He doesn't ask much, and will shower you with love and affection in return.
Note: He has had allergies which were previously under control with a prescription diet and a cytopoint injection every six weeks. He has since done a food sensitivity elimination diet and that seems to be working for him currently. His allergies have NOT flared up, he is eating a regular commercial kibble with Omega3 supplements and a probiotic and hasn’t had any issues with the itchies! We would suggest an adopter work with their vet on the best course of action for him. Any age-expected arthritis is managed well with a simple glucosamine supplement and keeping him at a healthy weight. Buppy’s favorite snacks are vegetables, fresh green beans especially, but he won’t say no to thawed frozen ones though. He does need frequent brushing (which he LOVES) and regular grooming appointments.
Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming etc.
Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300
Almost Home Rescue of New England is a 501 c 3 non-profit rescue; rescuing dogs since 2005. All Adoption applications are completed on line at www.almosthomerescue.net
