-Buddy in Maine Mixed Breed Westbrook, ME

We are once again shining the light on the sweet and fabulous Buddy! He is a 9 yr. old mixed breed in Maine. Our friends at the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook have asked us to get the word about this very special old fellow! He is seeking a laid-back home that will commit to helping him manage his diabetes and take him for walks to continue his weight loss journey.

This is what they say about him:

Sweet sweet Buddy is easily one of the most loved dogs here by the staff. He may not be able to see, but his personality easily makes up for that! Buddy is looking for an adopter who can care for him and his diabetes as he will need insulin twice daily for the rest of his life. An important part of maintaining Buddy’s health will be regular vet visits and communication with his vet. He is going to need to be the big focus of his new family.

He is the most amazing dog you could ever meet and does not let anything bring him down or get in his way. He is easy to walk, housebroken, quiet, affectionate, and loves his stuffies! If you have any dogs in your home, Buddy would like to meet them before heading home to ensure they understand how to interact with him since he is blind. We're not sure how he feels about cats but our canine team would be more than happy to discuss proper introductions. We are also not sure how he is with kids, but we believe that as long as they understand to give him his space and learn his ways everything should be just fine! All in all, Buddy is one of the best dogs you will ever meet and loves all the attention and cuddles you can give him, he is definitely a people dog and would love to become your shadow if he could!
