Meet BUDDY
Buddy is a BIG boy, at 9 weeks and 17 lbs. We think he may be mixed with Great Pyrenees, as he is such a big boy and he also has double dew claws on both hind paws. Buddy is a happy boy and is not phased by anything. He is very playful.
A NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER:
He’s a confident puppy. With his size it’s hard to keep in mind how young he is. He may just not have hit that cautious stage yet. Nothing phases him... not trash trucks, or traffic or the doorbell, or the vacuum, the wind, blowing leaves, swinging swings.... I’ve not found anything that gives him pause. He is not a fan of car rides yet. He’s also VERY exuberant. He’s a very puppy puppy. Jumpy and very mouthy. We are working on that.
Whether it’s age or just not much time spent with littermates/mama dog, he doesn’t really have basic dog greeting manners down. Our 19 weeks puppy is teaching him to back off and cool his jets a little. He wasn’t too happy about it but he was able to listen and respect her boundaries.
He does great in his crate and playpen. He sleeps through the night so far from 10:30 to 6:30. He fusses to go out to potty if he’s in his crate or playpen. Not so much the rest of the house ?. He loves to play tug. I think he would be a difficult puppy to have in a house with young children. His size and energy level would make it tough. His new family will need to help him with the mouthiness/nipping and any dog in the home will need to be okay with a puppy still learning basic communication.
