Name: Buddy (20230127-01)
Weight: 56 lbs
Age: approx 2yo
Gender: male
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Breed: Husky/Shepherd mix
Colour: black with tan

Neck size (for collar): 16"
Height (from top of head): 23"
Length (from nose to base of tail): 38.5"
Crate size recommended: XL

Good with women: Yes, with slow introductions and time. Will require multiple meets and greets.
Good with men: He is skittish/leery if they are walking towards him but will he will approach if seated or lying down.
Good with kids: Older kids 12+. Buddy is scared of small children and will run and hide; however, he is ok with older children that do not make loud noises or fast movements.
Good with other dogs: Yes, loves being part of a pack and making dog friends
Good with cats: No
House trained: Yes, he will whine to go outside
Crate trained: No, he does not do well in crates
Energy level: Skittish at this time, but the glimmers of playfulness seen lead me to believe Buddy will be active when he is comfortable in his home environment
Can be handled/touched: Buddy will come to you wen he is ready and wants you to touch him. He especially
enjoys chin scratches and cuddles on the couch.
Barker: Not at all, but he is a wonderful singer and will howl along with other dogs.
Flight risk: Yes, he is skittish so may flee if he feels threatened. He did jump a 6 foot fence in his first few days but
has since settled. Buddy enjoys backyard play time with his foster brothers and will follow them back in the home when called back in.
Food aggressive: Not at all. He lets the puppies out of his bowl if they manage to get to it
Current food: Raw performance - two times a day
Walks on leash: Buddy is an excellent walking partner and walks beside or slightly ahead. We are currently working
on sitting at intersections. He is not reactive on walks and only pulls when he sees squirrels running, but this is
easily corrected. He does have anxiety when passing large vehicles or men and will try to get out of his collar so double leashing is strongly recommended.
Leash reactive to people or dogs: No
Rides well in car: No, gets car sick
Destructive: Yes, when left alone for extended periods of time. He has
never destroyed anything when people are home.
Needs a home with a yard: Yes, he loves being outside
Needs a home with another dog: Buddy likes to follow so another calm dog would be beneficial to his re-adjustment.; however, he has shown that he can be an only pet with a calm female owner
Can live in an apartment: Possibly, if someone is home often.

History: Stray from Cross Lake, Manitoba
