Bruno - Prison Trained! Black Labrador Retriever & Terrier Mix West Jefferson, OH

Hello world, I'm Bruno and I am looking for my furever family! I am told by the nice Vet staff that I am a handsome Lab mix and they estimate my date of birth as 12/04/2021. I am told I am a bit overweight, currently weighing a whopping 105lbs as of February of 2024, but I am on a good and healthy diet of dog kibble and green beans(which I really like!) twice a day and I am beginning to shed some pounds. I love exercise! Especially when it is running around off leash in the outdoor dog run! I really like to play with toys out there and let the wind blow through my fur! I get lots of daily walks by the Staff and wonderful Volunteers that come here to walk dogs. I have been told several times that I am such a good boy and walk great on leash. I would really love to find a home that is somewhat active so I can continue my path to a healthy lifestyle( maybe we can even do some doggy yoga).

I came to this nice place after my previous owners could no longer care for me. I like to think I am a big goofy boy, who loves to give kisses, loves butt scratches and I will do the infamous "lab lean" where I like to lean my whole body up against you as close as I can be while you give me lots of love. I am a previous graduate of the Prison Training Program where I got to work with an experienced handler learning manners and basic commands, leash walking, crate training and lots of other stuff. I am a quick learner and I am very treat motivated so I would love to work on learning other cool stuff at home. I did very well when I went to the cat adoption room to meet some of the feline friends here. I was well behaved and mostly just sniffed around and was interested in their food(it smelled yummy). I am a big boy so I might want to go to a home with a cat that is used to having a dog around. When it comes to other dogs I think I could live in a home with dog friends. I would see how that goes with a scheduled dog meet and greet to see if our energies matched. So now that you know a bit about me, how about putting in an application to come and meet me!? Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $17, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
