This perfectly precious pittie mix is such a resilient little guy. He’s been through a lot in his five years of life, but he has the sweetest personality. Bruce has some challenges, so he is looking for an adoptive home that is suited to his particular needs.

What’s amazing about Bruce: He LOVES people and cats! Bruce has lived with kids and cats his whole life, so he’s an amazing family pet. Dogs will be considered on a case-by-case basis with appropriate meet and greets, but at this time we feel he will do best as the only pup in his household so he can have all of your attention and love. Bruce is loyal, sweet, and a good listener! He is working with a trainer to overcome the neglect he experienced in the past and gain confidence and doggie skills. He walks beautifully on his leash, enjoys the comfort and security of his crate, and loves to get into his pajamas and snuggle with you or his favorite stuffed piggy toy.

What Bruce is working on: Bruce was neglected in his first home and spent most of his time alone, so he has some separation anxiety. He is currently doing fine with 3-4 hours of “alone time”, and we feel that will continue to improve as he learns that you aren’t leaving him for 12+ hours, he’s going to get regular meals and walks, and you’re definitely coming back. He had some minor medical issues as he had not seen a vet since he was a pup, but that’s all taken care of and he is fully vetted and very healthy. He is working with a trainer on gentle, positive reinforcement techniques, and taking anti-anxiety meds to help him adjust. He has made massive strides with his dedicated foster family since joining us at the new year. Bruce will need a family who is willing to continue both his training and medical management.

His ideal adopter works from home and is looking for a best bud to spend lots of time with, whether it’s cuddling on the couch to watch tv or taking long walks and having outdoor adventures.

Bruce has come so far, and has blossomed into the sweetest, gentlest, and most amazing dog.
