Brownie Terrier & Chihuahua Mix Manhattan Beach, CA

Brownie was the pride and joy of his humans life. He was loved and adored living the good life, then one day that all changes. Brownie's owner went to hospice and sadly he was taken to the shelter. Rover Rescue (Noah's Bark's sister rescue) heard about Brownie's story and picked him up immediately. Brownie has been with us for almost 4 years now. He is still with us because he is a bit quirky and needs a rather specific kind of home. Before coming to us, his owner allowed Brownie to do whatever he pleased, he had no rules or boundaries. Then when his owner passed away and his world turned upside down, there were some behavioral issues that we discovered. Brownie is a bit shy and takes a little time warming up to people. He needs an experienced owner that will give Brownie boundaries. Without boundaries, he wants to be the dominant one and will try to bite to stand his ground to get what he wants. He is so much better than he was when he first came to us though. And we don't define him by his quirky personality. He has his great qualities too! He is housebroken, crate trained, a great walking companion and a good boy in the car too. He loves cats but can be a little picky with his dog friends, but he's a grumpy old man, so he fits that profile perfectly! He is 9 1/2 years old and is about 12 pounds. Brownie needs an adult only home.Our adoptions are restricted to residents within 30 miles of the South Bay area of Los Angeles. We do not ship animals or do long distance adoptions.
