Meet Brownie
Brownie is an adorable 5 year old Dachshund/Beagle mix. One of his favorite tricks is standing on his hind legs! Brownie is somewhat dog selective, but that's mostly because he wants to be the alpha dog in the house and the center of your attention. His previous foster home (from another rescue) has 10 dogs, consisting of seniors and hospice dogs, and Brownie got along with all but 2 of them.
This good boy is potty trained, which is always a plus. His previous foster mom said "He is very smart and trainable. "Bop" is his training word to stop what he's doing. He is a sweet and good boy. He likes to grumble and complain, but I would just laugh and he would walk away shaking his head."
Brownie loves tug-o-war, sunbathing outside, and snuggling with his person. While he loves almost everyone he meets, kids make him nervous - so he kindly requests a home with kids over the age of 10 years old.
He seems to like the sound of his voice and thinks everyone else does too - since he likes to talk a lot, apartments and condos would not be a good fit. He has not been around cats, but his previous foster mom doesn't think he'd get along with them.
If your looking for a fun-loving companion, apply to adopt Brownie today! His minimum adoption fee is $235 plus a $12 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at:
