Meet Harpo~

Harpo needs a home. Harpo is 7 months old, but he definitely struggles. There's no "typical" puppy behavior here unless he's playing with other dogs. When he's around humans he is not aggressive in any way, he just tries to avoid them.

***Pupdate~10/3/24

Harpo got away from his foster and was loose out in the woods for a few days. When we finally got him back, his leg was broken and dangling from his body! We are still unsure of how this happened! He has had his leg amputated and is fully healed! Harpo is getting around super well!
Also, after this whole incident, we have definitely noticed a change in Harpo. He has let his guard down around the people that he knows best. We can now clearly see that Harpo will bond nicely to his humans. He might always remain calm and very quiet, but we really think he will make a great best friend for someone!
Harpo is perfect in the car by the way!

*The adoption fee is $450.00 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, Bravecto (3 month flea/tick and heartworm preventative), leash and collar, ProHeart 12~adults only (Heartworm prevention lasting 12 months), and the mandatory CT HB 5368 exam.

BREED IDENTIFICATION:
Please understand that many rescue dogs are mixes of multiple breeds. Petfinder allows us to choose up to two breeds per dog. While the shelters and our rescue do our best in accurately identifying breeds, breed identification is not guaranteed. If there is a certain breed that you do not want, it is very important that you share this with our rescue when applying. When adopting a puppy, breed uncertainty plays a big part in the size/look of the dog as an adult. Please know that any puppy can be a wonderful dog, regardless of preconceived notions of certain breeds, but it is very important that the adopter has the dedication and patience to raise the puppy with boundaries, consistency, structure, & love. The more effort you give towards training & time you allow for exercise, your puppy will grow to be a HUGE source of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TOTAL LOYALTY, HAPPINESS, COMFORT & COMPANIONSHIP!

ABOUT OUR RESCUE:
We are a small rescue run by volunteers & focused on finding the right match for both our dogs & for you. If you are interested in adopting through our rescue, you first will need to complete an adoption application & be approved as a potential adopter before meeting any of our pups. No need to be intimidated by our application as it allows us to get to know you & your lifestyle. Of course, the more you can share the better! Please also note, while a fenced yard is fantastic, it is not required by our rescue, however, it may be required for a certain dog occasionally. Once adoption applicants are approved to become potential adopters, we offer private appointments where you can meet one or several dogs at the discretion of the rescue. We offer a unique & pleasant experience focused on finding the perfect match. It is extremely important to us that everyone is treated with respect & that NO ONE IS LEFT HANGING. WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITHIN 2 TO 3 DAYS of application submission. SOME PROVIDERS HAVE VERY STRICT POLICIES REGARDING WHICH TYPE OF DOG BREEDS ARE ALLOWED UNDER THEIR COVERAGE. STATE FARM WAS SUGGESTED TO US AS THEY DO NOT PUNISH, DROP, NOR REFUSE YOU DUE TO DOG BREED SHOULD YOU RUN INTO ISSUES WITH YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER.
