Per Finders 5/12/24: My partner and I found Brigitte on Friday evening in our neighborhood while out walking our dog. She was sitting outside of an unoccupied house unrestrained and with no collar. She appeared injured, fearful and cold. After sitting with her for a few hrs and giving treats to earn her trust we were able to slip a lead on her and bring her back to the house. She slept quietly in a crate through the night without any issues.

The following day we got her outside for some walks and asked around if any neighbors recognized her, which they did not. While very timid, she walks well on a leash with minimal pulling and also shows knowledge of "Sit. She also did great in her crate throughout the day. She was very quiet, showed no destructive tendencies and has a healthy appetite. She'll need a slow and gentle approach, but was non-reactive. She warmed up to us a bit with plenty of treats and started showing some tail wags.

Later in the day we did a pack walk while allowing plenty of space. My female dog was very eager to engage and we did not want to overwhelm Brigitte so both dogs were walkdc side-by-side with space in-between and were not put face to face. Brigitte was avoidant and fearful but non-reactive. We were careful not to push her boundaries but after walking for a while she loosened up. Brigitte did great in the car ride to ACCT and sat calmly and quietly in the back.

Behavior:
Per Volunteer 5/12/24: Omg cutest sweetest gal with a ridiculous underbite! I love her. She was soo easy to leash and really good walking with no pulling. She's super gentle and at first pretty shy. Warms up with some treats and she got so sweet and affectionate! Loved getting pets all over or just sitting next to me. Pretty low energy, did some sniffing but cared more about being next to me. Sweet gal, seems to gain confidence with her hooman pals!
