Boone Coonhound & Cattle Dog Mix Charleston, SC

Boone is an exuberant hound mix from a rural shelter in Manning, SC looking for his forever home. He is an energetic goofball who loves going on long walks, tracking new smells, and meeting new friends (canine or human). He is an incredibly social dog, and loves being around other dogs, so he would do best if he went to a household with siblings. He is a great pup to take on adventures because he’s so friendly, curious, and athletic. He’s high energy and leggy, so would do best in a house with a yard where he can stretch his legs (or with somebody committed to taking him to the dog park).

We do think this is his first time living in a household, so he’d do best with a family willing to put in a little bit of time to train him. He’s a very good boy and has never shown any aggression whatsoever, but he still needs to learn how to conduct himself in a home that isn’t fully puppy-proofed. He can be vocal, but would probably settle down if he had a buddy to play with. Boone is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate all night. He is currently learning how to walk on a leash (most of his pulling happens when he spots a potential new friend and can’t wait to get over there and meet them). He has had no accidents in the house, but he hasn’t been left unattended for any length of time to truly test that. We have not tested him with cats or children.

Boone is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchips and went through heartworm treatment.
